Summer Help Wanted: Cascade Home Repair
Cascade Home Repair is looking for part time assistance this summer. You’ll be working alongside a master craftsman on everything from small home repairs to full remodeling and carpentry projects. This is a part-time, as-needed position with flexibility for both employer and employee.
What You’ll Be Doing
Helping Out: Helping with whatever the day's project requires.
Hands-on Work: Painting, cleaning up job sites, demolition, digging, cutting and working with wood and other building materials, moving materials, and putting in new fixtures. Tasks will depend on skill level.
Fixes: Assisting with all kinds of home repairs and carpentry tasks.
What We’re Looking For
The Basics: You must be at least 18 years old and have your own car to get to job sites. (17 year-olds who will turn 18 soon may be considered). Must be able to be on feet all day inside or outside. Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 lbs (being able to lift more is a plus).
Tools: Willingness to use or learn to safely use power tools. Comfort with ladders, or willingness to learn to use ladders preferred.
Personality: You need to be friendly to coworkers and customers, maintain and clean and professional appearance, and show up on time with a good attitude.
Reliability: Someone who works hard, doesn’t complain, and is ready to jump in.
Willingness to Learn: You don’t need experience, but you should be excited to pick up new skills.
The Details
No Experience? No Problem: Being handy, having specific skills, or a general knack for fixing things is a plus and will earn more pay, but isn’t necessary. We will provide all the training and tools you need.
Hours: Depends on what jobs there are. There may be weeks where you’d be requested to work all day every day and other times when work may not be available. You should be able to come in to work most of the time when requested, but we can work with your availability as well.
Pay: $18-$40+/hr based on skill level. ie $18/hr for little experience but strong work ethic, $22 for some independent skills, $30 for strong woodworking ability etc. Pay grows with skill level.
Location: Most work is in Cascade/Ada though some is throughout greater Grand Rapids.
Longevity: Opportunities to work into the fall and in subsequent years.
